Conflict-Free Course Scheduling

Conflict-Free Course Scheduling

The Bachelor's program of study has a modular and systematic structure. Courses are carefully coordinated so that there are no time conflicts in the mandatory core area of the program. Individual classes and lectures are kept as close together as possible timewise in order to avoid any unnecessarily long periods of waiting for our students.

The sample curriculum for the Bachelor's program schedules a workload of a maximum of 33 ECTS points and 22 semester hours and a minimum of 24 ECTS points and 8 semester hours. As the program of study proceeds, the workload lessens, in order to ensure that students have time to prepare and write up their thesis. The average student workload thus complies with the workload recommended for a Bachelor's program.

Beginner students are allocated to tutorial groups, which are each headed by 2 advanced students and mentored by a professor. In groups of approx. 20, students have access to introductory and orientation events, such as tours of the libraries or various institutes. They can also exchange their experiences and problems with their peers within the group. The mentor professors are happy to provide help and support, for example with questions relating to scholarships.

Prior to the onset of the lecture period, RWTH Aachen University offers preparatory courses for new students. For students intending to embark on the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, in addition to German, good English skills and mathematics skills are imperative, so attendance of these preparatory or bridging courses would be a particularly good idea for them. Students are advised about attending courses of this kind as soon as they enroll.
